General Settings for IMAP protocol:
Incoming Mail server: imapsg.cs.technion.ac.il (for segel/staff) OR imapta.cs.technion.ac.il (for graduate/assistant).
Server settings:
Requires Authentication (usernam, password).
Requires a secure connection (SSL).
Port: 993
Root folder path: mail
Outgoing Mail server: mailout.cs.technion.ac.il
Server settings:
Requires Authentication (usernam, password).
Requires a secure connection (SSL).
Port: 465
Detailed Setting account in Outlook (2010) :
Select File -> Add Account
A wizard will start.
Auto Account Setup:
Select Manually configure server settings or additinal server types.
Click Next.
Choose Service:
Select Internet E-mail
Click Next.
Internet E-mail Settings:
Your Name: Enter your Full name.
E-mail Adress: Enter your CS mail address in E-mail address.
Account Type: IMAP.
Incoming mail server: imapsg.cs.technion.ac.il (or imapta.cs.technion.ac.il for TA (CSD) users)
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mailout.cs.technion.ac.il
User Name: Your CSA/CSD username.
Password: Your CSA/CSD password.
Remember Password: Select to remember or (preferred) not to remember your CSA/CSD password.
Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Unset.
Select More Settings …
Select Outgoing Server tab:
Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires Authentication option.
Check the Use same setting as my incoming mail server option.
Select Incoming Server tab:
Under Incoming mail (IMAP) Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL.
Under Outgoing mail (SMTP) Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL.
Change Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
Root folder path: mail
Click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finished.
