Configure Windows Live Mail

Settings (IMAP):

Incoming Mail server:

imapsg.cs.technion.ac.il (for segel/staff).

imapta.cs.technion.ac.il (for graduate/assistant).

Server settings:

Requires Authentication (usernam, password).

Requires a secure connection (SSL).

Port: 993

Root folder path: mail.
Outgoing Mail server:

mailout.cs.technion.ac.il

Server settings:

Requires Authentication (usernam, password).

Requires a secure connection (SSL).

Port: 465

Settings (POP3):
Incoming Mail server:

popsg.cs.technion.ac.il (for segel/staff).

popta.cs.technion.ac.il (for graduate/assistant).

POP Server settings:

Requires Authentication (usernam, password).

Requires a secure connection (SSL).

Port: 995

If you want to keep the copied messages on CS server, make sure you enable this option, otherwise the messages will be copied to your mail client and deleted from server.

Outgoing Mail server:

The same is in IMAP sertup above.

Setting IMAP account in Windows Live Mail client:

Select menu Tools -> Accounts…

Select Add-> Mail…

A wizard will start.

Your Name:  Enter your name in Display Name.

Click Next.

Internet E-mail address:  Enter your CS mail address in E-mail address.

Click Next.

E-mail Server Names:  My incoming mail server is a : IMAP server

Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server: imapsg.cs.technion.ac.il (imapta.cs.technion.ac.il )

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mailout.cs.technion.ac.il

Click Next.

Internrt Mail Logon:

Account name: Your CSA/CSD username.

Password: Your CSA/CSD password.

Remember Password: Select to remember or (preferred) not to remember your CSA/CSD password.

Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): Unset.

Click Next.

Congratulations:

Click Finish.

Configure your account:
Click on the account name created and click on
Properties.
Click on Servers tab:

Check the My server requires Authentication option.

Open the Settings… of the My server requires Authentication option:

Check the Use same setting as my incoming mail server option.

Click OK.

Click on Advanced tab:

Under Outgoing mail (SMTP) select (check) This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
Under Incoming mail (IMAP) select (check) This server requires a secure connection (SSL) .
Change Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465.

Click on IMAP tab:

Root folder path: mail.

Uncheck (unset) Check for new messages in all folders.

Sent Items path: Sent Items.

Drafts path: Drafts.
Click OK.
Click OK.
