🔐 How to Change Your Password on the TD-CSF Windows Domain
Used for: Logging into Windows workstations, HelpDesk, CS WiFi, and printing services.
⚠️ Note: These instructions do not apply to Unix accounts (CSA/CSM/Unix mail) or undergraduate student accounts.
📜 TD-CSF Password Policy
To keep your account secure, make sure your new password meets the following requirements:

Minimum Length: 10 characters

Complexity Requirements:

The password must not include your username or more than two consecutive characters from your full name

It must include at least three of the following four character types:
-
Uppercase English letters (A–Z)
-
Lowercase English letters (a–z)
-
Numbers (0–9)
-
Special characters (e.g.,
@
,#
,$
,!
)
-
-
Avoid using common words like
password
,secret
,username
, etc.

Change Limit: Passwords can be changed only once per day
-
These rules apply whenever a password is created or updated
🛠️ How to Change Your TD-CSF Password
You can change your password using one of the following methods:
✅ Option 1: From a Windows Computer on the TD-CSF Domain

Make sure you are logged into the TD-CSF domain (not a local account)

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete

Click on “Change Password”

Follow the prompts
🖥️ Option 2: From a Unix Terminal (CSA or CSM Servers)

Log in to one of the LINUX faculty servers (CSA or CSM)
-
Run the following command:

Enter your current TD-CSF password
-
Enter your new password (according to the policy), then confirm it
-
If successful, you’ll see a message:
Password changed for user YOUR-USERNAME
