The wireless network is designed for computer science faculty members and students with TD-CSF account.
- Using the wireless network is possible only with 802.1x protocol.
- The wireless networks for undergrad students are: students_WIFI, Techwifi distributed in ground floor and 2nd floor.
- The wireless networks for staff is: STAFF_WIFI distributed all over the building.
- The wireless networks for graduate students is: GRAD_WIFI distributed all over the building.
- The wireless network called cs_guest distributed for guests all over the building. In order to open a guest account, select Open WiFi guest account .
To connect to the network you need to set the wireless network interface according to the following steps:
- In Control Panel (right click on Start on Windows 8), type NETWORK at the Search (Search Control Panel at right upper corner of window)
- Select Network and Sharing Center . The next window will open, select Manage Wireless Networks .
- Select the desired wireless network in the opened window, and click the right mouse to select Properties. If you can not see any network go to step below Add WiFi network.
- The next window will open. Select Security.
- The next Properties window will open. Select :
- Security Type: WPA2-Enterprize
- Encryption type: EAS
- Network Authentication method: PEAP
- Click on Settings for PEAP Network Authentication method
- In Protected EAP Properties windows:
- De-select Validate server certificate.
- Select Authentication method: select Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)
- Select Enable Fast Reconnect
- Click on Configue for the Authentication method
- De-select Automatically use my Windows logon …
- Click OK.
- Click on Advanced settings.
- In 802.1x, set Specify authentication mode, and select User authentication
- Click OK.
- Click OK to close setup.
- Clicking the wireless cursor on the lower right bar the next window will open,
- Select the desired network :
- Students_WIFI and Techwifi for undergraduate students
- STAFF_WIFI for seggel faculty members
- GRAD_WIFI for assistants
- After a few seconds the next window will open:
- Enter your user name and password in Domain TD-CSF
- The wireless cursor on the lower right bar will show Connected.
- You are connected to WiFi.
Add WiFi network:
- Select add in Manage Wireless networks
- Select Manually create a network profile
- Network name: Type the desired name from list (CS_WIFI, etc).
- Security type: PA2 – Enterprise
- Encryption type: AES
- Now repeat instructions above to set connection.
